Children have a natural capacity for empathy, love, and compassion, and these values can be deliberately deepened and expanded through training.
In this 3-hour workshop, we will teach mindfulness, compassion, and kindness to self & others, introducing them with tools to help them thrive in school and life.
They are taught about mindfulness, replacing negative self-talk and other evidence-based practices that enhance their well-being. The enhanced focus and ability to ‘ready the brain’ for learning gained through this workshop can lead to enhanced self-regulation and awareness.
This class is facilitated by Michelle, founder of Rebalance. A trained mindfulness professional, she has been working with kids and teens for over a decade and is passionate about bringing a heartfelt approach to next-generation education.

Why on earth would you pay more, you ask? It’s simple: to make sure that every child/ parent who cannot afford is subsidised at a rate for either this or future programmes and that those interested are not left out for lack of ability to pay. Attendance of kids on subsidy will be dependent on space and type of programme. We hope to create an inclusive, non-discriminatory option for families and children. Let’s bring awareness that are still people here in Singapore that are struggling and falling through the cracks.

Michelle’s journey in mindfulness started when she battled with disordered eating and corporate burnout for several years. A practice of greater self-awareness and management, emotional regulation, empathy and compassion has helped her to transform her life from one of excessive and obsessive Doing, to just simply Being.
She has studied and trained with the world’s most heavily-researched secular mindfulness programme, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), under UC San Diego Center for Mindfulness, Mindful Schools, and The Science of Well-Being at Yale. A keen interest in mindfulness within organisational settings, she is also a teacher-in-training under the popular Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI), an emotional intelligence, mindfulness and compassion programme first developed at Google.
Her heart-centred and evidence-based approach has reached a variety of settings including corporates, individuals, children, and young adults. She is also a certified Hatha/vinyasa yoga instructor, a Mindful Birth educator in prenatal, postnatal and active birthing yoga, and frequently leads self-care retreats around Asia. Annually, she attends meditation retreats in noble silence.
In her ventures, Michelle’s passion and mission have merged into the same road: she believes in lifting others up and driving meaningful experiences so that they can create more space within to invite more compassion, empathy, and self-awareness.
