One sentence summary:
In a sentence: Learn unique Taoist breathing techniques to improve your immune system, energy level, psychological wellness and improve your meditation.
Overview: According to the ancient Chinese view, the vital force provided by air through breathing is even more important to health and longevity than that provided by food and water through digestion. The way in which we breathe is also a direct reflection of the levels of stress that we are feeling; when we feel calm our breathing becomes deep and regular, when we feel stress our breathing becomes shallower and quicker.
The sessions are designed to provide an in depth understanding of how our breathing can be used in order to promote our physical, psychological and spiritual well being. It will combine this understanding with several different practical techniques and breathing forms that can easily be integrated and applied in your daily life.
Each participant will be provided with a full manual of illustrated instructions detailing the breathing techniques.
The day will be split into two parts:
The Masterclass will be looking at the physiological dynamics of breathing. You will learn how to use specific breathing patterns combined with simple body movements in order to:
- Calm and balance your nervous system
- Stimulate and regulate your glands
- Improve metabolism and sleep
- Improve the condition of your heart and respiratory system
- Promote vitality and open energy channels within your body.
The Mini-retreat will look at slightly more gentle breathing techniques that can be used to:
- Enhance the flow of subtle energy, or Qi through our body
- Promote deeper meditation states. They promote not just physical health, but also
- help improve our psychological wellbeing.
- They promote the experience of inner peace which in turn enables us to connect to states of deep regenerative relaxation, helping us to cope with the challenges of our contemporary lifestyle.
